It's really only Wednesday...

Sheesh. This has been a long week.

Laine- She woke up in the early morning last Friday. She was screaming at the tops of her lungs because she had a bloody nose. Not your average bloody nose. Like a faucet of blood running from her nose. She was freaking out because the blood had gotten all over her princess-ballerina jammies. After 20 min of non stop bleeding and screaming I started to worry. By then Bode was up and he turned into a super helper. Him being there calmed her down. He got my phone, extra tissue and the shout. I called Jer to tell him what was going on and he wrapped up work and came home. After what seemed liked forever the bleeding stopped. I changed her clothes, picked up the mess, got everyone back to bed, and started the laundry to save the princess-ballerina jammies. By then it was almost 5am. Seriously not 5 seconds after my head hit the pillow Piper was up and ready to eat. Thankfully by then my dear sweet husband was home and took her. He let me sleep until about 8:30. By then it was clear that Laine was sick. She had a fever and was acting pretty punk. So after a trip to the urgent care we found out she had strep throat. Fast forward to today. She is almost back to her sweet self. She was pretty happy all day until she hit the corner of her head/eye on the trampoline while driving by it on the power wheel. Now she has a black eye.

Mom- I went to bed on Monday night thinking the wind had made my allergies act up. I was wrong. Slept absolutely awful that night. I woke up with chills, sore throat and a fever. Jer had to do some training for work and was gone for most of the day. Luckily for me Bode went to school. Laine was still feeling kind of sick so she was happy to lay low with me and Piper was a great little baby. When Jer got home he took care of the kids while I rested. I went to bed around 8 and woke up at 5 feeling 99% better. Good thing too because...

Bode- Woke up at 5 Wednesday morning with a fever, chills, sore throat and a killer cough. He has been sick all day. he even coughed so much he threw up. After a few breathing treatments, asthma treatments and starting a round of antibiotics he is starting to make some improvement. He just wants to get hugs and snuggle. He did have one funny moment this afternoon when we were watching tv. He freaked out about going to college. He was just crying and crying in my arms telling me he was scared to go to college and he doesn't want to go. He said he would miss my hugs. Oh the sweet thoughts of a 5 nearly 6 year old boy. I hope he feels better tomorrow.

Piper- She had her 4 month check up today. She is a short, chubby little gal. She weight 14 1/2 pounds, which puts her in the 90th percentile for weight. She is 24 1/2 inches long with puts her in 30th percentile for weight. She has had a killer flat spot on the back left side of her head. The doctor decided that is it bad enough to go see a specialist. So we will be going sometime to see if she needs a helmet to reshape her head.

Jeremiah- He has been a great dad and husband this week. He has let me sleep all night and sleep in the mornings too. He took care of the kids. Fed them, dressed them, and got them to bed. I am so grateful to have him. I also hope he doesn't get sick.

And just because I can't blog without a picture...

This was last week some time. She finally got him to play dress ups! She was so excited. He was such a good sport, right down to the pink cowboy books.

Wicked fun...

Last year sometime I saw a friend post on facebook the Wicked tickets would be going on sale. If you bought in a large group and really early then they would be nice and cheap. I sent our feelers to all my siblings and parents. Everybody thought it was a great idea and we bought the tickets. So this past Thursday, after many months of waiting, we all got to go see Wicked.

The plan was to drop off the kids (thank you Lisa for watching them, they had so much fun!!) and drive across the valley to meet everyone for dinner at 4:30. Giving us plenty of time to eat, talk and get to Gammage before 7:30. We plans never work out... this is what Jer and I got stuck in. Bumper to bumper traffic ALL the way across the valley. We passed 3 accidents. It was rather frustrating.

We did finally make it there... only 45 min late. We ate dinner and ordered cheesecake :) If you are following my weight loss progress, don't worry there was no diet wrecking going on. The cheesecake was sugar free and very low carb. I wasn't planning on having it but after that drive, I needed it.

It was fun to see all my sibling and their other halves. I love all these people. This I think was probably the first time we all got to be together without any of our children. As much as I love my kids and all the cousins, it was fun to go on an adult date.

I especially loved going with this guy. It was the longest time we have spent without our kids in the last 4 months. He pretended to be a little grumpy about going but I know he enjoyed it. We talked about seeing last time and how it compared to this time. I am glad we got to go together.

The food was good, the show was great and the company was awesome!
Thanks family for coming!!

A special visitor...

A few weekends ago Bode got to bring home a special friend from school, Clifford the big red dog. He was SO excited. every kid in the class get to bring him home for a weekend and then they are the special student in the class the next week.

Clifford got tho share Bode's personal pizza that he got for reading every day.
He is getting so good at reading. He read a few books to Clifford.

The Big Red Dog was fast friends with Bode's other stuffed animals.

Saturday morning Clifford got to go get the weekly doughnut breakfast with Dad, Bode and Laine.
The kids love getting them almost every Saturday with Dad.

After church on Sunday Dad got a wild hair. He decided we should go on a drive so we could go for a family hike. We all hopped in the car and drove up to Sedona.
The drive was so nice. The kids slept most of the way, the weather was a bit rainy and we even saw a big huge double rainbow.

It was much to wet and cold to go for a hike but the kids had fun anyway. We grabbed a bite to eat at a little cafe, walked around town and showed Clifford the big red dog the big red rocks.

We finished off out spur of the moment road trip with some ice cream.

It was fun to be a bit spontaneous. We almost never do things like that. We need to do it more often.

Dear Piper...

I know the next few days are going to be hard. I have thoroughly enjoyed breastfeeding you. You are such a sweet little baby and it makes me so sad to start weaning you. But just like with Bode and Laine, my body just can't give you what you want. You wouldn't know it to look at you (or Bode and Laine at that age) but you are hungry. After feeding you for long, frequent breastfeeding sessions, you still being hungry enough to take  formula on top of that, it is just time. I held out for a long time with Laine before I made the switch. That was a hard 6 weeks. I don't want this time to be like that. The last 2 weeks have been hard and I want my sweet Piper back. I am pretty sure that the best way to get her back is to wean you and give you the bottle. Plus your Daddy loves you so much. He wants to feed you too. And I know Bode and Laine are dying to give you a bottle. I will miss my sweet moments with you.

A princess...

Laine is quite the little princess. She loves to dress up, do hair and, put on makeup.

This is Laine's friend and our neighbor. They love to play dress-ups together. Everyday they are putting on their dresses and having a cup-o-tea.

Today I looked out in the back yard and saw Laine with her undies and jeans at her knees. She told me she was going to go pee pee. In her words. "just like Bode". She then decided to try to pee standing up. Not so princess like and definitely not a good idea. Lesson learned. Princesses do not pee standing up.

Laine also loves to dance. She loves her little dance class and looks forward to it every week. We catch her bustin' a move all the time. Here she is during the halftime of the super bowl. For proper viewing tilt your head all the way to the left :)

Blast from the past...

Last September (or maybe October) or computer decided to stop working. It had some kind of virus. After crashing a few times and getting it fixed over the past few years we decided to just save the money and buy a new one. Easier said than done right. With a new baby, hospital stays and Christmas around the corner all extra cash was spoken for. We had our phones and a notebook to use, but I prefer working on a desktop. Call me old fashioned. My mom and dad had a computer that they weren't using anymore. Actually they hadn't really used it since Jeremiah stopped working for them because it was his work computer. So they ended up bring it down when they came for Thanksgiving. It works great and I am happy to have it.

Since it was Jeremiah's it had some old pictures on it. I saw this one and I can hardly believe it! Look at my little duder! He was probably 20 months old. This was after a volleyball game up in Pinetop. He was, is, so cute. I love his cheeks and bull-legs. I know everyone says it, but time goes by so, so fast. The days are long but the years are fast. Why does this have to be? I wish for a second that I could go back and kiss this squishy little guy. So for now I think I will go hug my soon to be 6 year old knobby kneed little boy before he turns into a giant man.

Oh the sweetness of a baby...

There is something so special about having a baby in your home.
They are so pure, sweet and, simple.

I love to watch babies learn new things. Finding her hand this day was a big deal.
She would bring it up so slow, inspecting every aspect of it, then shove it in her mouth.

Looking for toes and finding them every time is such an accomplishment.

She makes the night time routine more fun for Bode. He love to read her his book.
She happily coo's at all the right times.

Laine loves to hold "her Hipes" on the couch and watch a show.

These little smiles make every late night and sleepless moment so worth it.

Bright eyes make long work days easier.

Even she knows she is special.
