I am 2, I can do everything!

So I have finally decided that I need to put a lock on the pantry door. This is the reason why! He was on the second shelf ready to climb up to the next one when I caught him. He has never been much of a climber so this was strange to see. I guess he will do anything for food. I put one of the door locks that you can get from Wal-Mart on the door and he was quite unhappy about that. He hung, hit and yelled at it, hoping it would magically open.

Bode's language skills are getting better everyday! He is trying to say so many new words. Yesterday he learned "paper". He loves to color and has asked me three times this morning for paper to color on.

We had a great weekend. Jeremiah had Monday off so he came up Friday night and spent the whole weekend together. Bode was super excited to see Jeremiah pull up in the drive way and during dinner that night every time Jer looked somewhere other than as him he would yell DAD! I guess he had a lot to tell his Daddy becasue he talked and played with him all evening. Must have missed him.

I for one was very, very happy he came home. You do not realise how much you miss and love someone until they are not around everyday. It is kind of nice to have the time to miss him becasue it makes me love the time we spend together so much better.

Beep! Beep! Choo! Choo!

(He can do this better, but just like a kid never when you want them to.)

Bode is getting so big. He has not been a big talker in his little life but lately his vocab and concept for things has been growing by leaps and bounds. He has always seemed to busy to talk. Right now it seems like everyday he is learning something new.

In this clip he is pushing a "horn" and going beep beep

making a swoosh noise and using his hand to make and airplane

pulling the "chain" for the choo choo train

FYI while Jeremiah is gone I will be posting a lot so the Dad can see his little boy.

Easter

We had a nice low-key Easter. Bode loved dyeing eggs. He thought it was great and would ooh and ah over the changing colors. On Sunday we went to church and then to my Mom and Dad's for a yummy Easter dinner. It was so nice to have a great weekend right before Jeremiah took off to start his new job.
(Grandpa and Bode had the same Easter outfit)

Bode was hilarious with his basket. At Jeremiah's home they would find their Easter baskets through out their house. We have decided to do the same, so we "hid" it by the door. We figure that he really couldn't find it if we hid it really hard. So he got to find it all by himself. He saw it and walked over really curious and then yells "YEA!!!". It was like he knew exactly what was going on, even though he has never really experienced the whole basket and egg thing.

We hid eggs in the grass at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He was really in to it. He really liked throwing the eggs and breaking into his basket. My Mom had plastic eggs with candy in them and he thought those were the best ones.

What day is it!?!

What a blur the last week or so has been! We have driven over 1,000 miles and been all over the state. Since Jer is not going to have any time off in the next few months we decided to take some kid free time and enjoy a little vacation for ourselves. First we had to get to the valley... with a twist. Our Tahoe was full of kids. We drove Quinn, Parker and Abbey home and along with Bode they filled up the whole car. It reminded us that yes we want 4 kids but definitely spaced out a bit, and that any more than 4 kids we would have to get a bigger car and I don't want to drive a huge "burb" aka suburban.

Then we had fun for Bode's birthday. We went with Jill and John and their kids to see "Horton Hears a Who". It was Bode's first movie and I was worried about how he would do especially becasue he had a huge temper tantrum just a few minuets before the movie over a hot corn dog. Lets just say he was hungry and the corn dog was too hot and it made him very, very, mad. But he did so good. He just sat and watched it. He never gets soda normally but we bought a root beer and he loved it and sat through the movie with is between his legs sippn on the straw.

We droped Bode off at Rena's on Monday and we were off on our little vacation to Tucson. We shopped all day and when we got to our hotel we encountered the first of many problems. They had our reservation but it was for the 24 of March instead of the 17. Oops we scheduled for the wrong days! But that got all worked out. But we got to thinking about all our other reservations and called the baseball stadium and yep... our tickets were for the next week. But luckily there was a different game we could go to. So instead of watching the Diamondbacks we saw the Padres and White Sox's play.

Then we called Kartchner Caversn and yes you guessed it or reservations were for the next week. It is really hard to get tickets so we ended up having to get up really early got the park and wait to see if we could get walk in tickets instead. They only give out 100 of them per day. The office opens at 7:30 so we got there at about 7:00 and there were already 22 cars in front of us! Luckely we got tickets!! FYI it is really neat. We really enjoyed it and it was worth all the hassle.

In between our Kartchner Caverns tour we were able to go to St. David to see my brother and his family. It worked out well because we got to Megan's little birthday party. It was really good becasue we don't see every one as much as we would like to so it was great that we got to be there for here little party. Although we did realize that we saw each one of my sibling this week.

We had a bit of time to kill and Tombstone is right out of St. David so we drove down there. It was kind cool to see the OK corral. But that is just a one time thing for us for sure.

We got to eat at a few yummy places. We went to Pinnacle Peaks a big cowboy steak house and it was great. And we found my new favorite fast food called La Salsa. Only down side is that they are only in Tucson, bummer.

All in all we had a fun time being with each other but we both ready to get back to out little Bode!

Thank you Rena for taking care of the little guy!!

Thanks Dad, Mom and Lee for taking care of our other little baby!!

Oh yeah... these were Jeremiah great find. I thought they were to tacky to buy although Jeremiah really wanted them.

Happy early Birthday!

Well I guess I had more time today than I thought. My wonderful mother was kind enough to let me drop Bode off with all the other cousins staying at her house. Then later in the day we had a little party for Bode.
We brought everyone a balloon. It was all fun until Quinn's balloon popped on his pointy party hat.
Can you believe how big he is getting!?!
Quinn before his balloon popped.
Four out of seven cousins isn't bad.

We were singing to Bode and the cake was on the table. Before the song was over Abbey had blown out the candles. We all got a kick out of that. To bad I didn't get it all on film.

He has gotten so big!

Busy, busy, busy...

Wow, we have been and will be busy for the next few weeks. Now that Jeremiah's whole police thing is going it feels like we are living life in a blur. We have been back and forth from here to valley to many times to count the past few weeks.

Last weekend (Friday and Saturday) we made a quick day trip that turned into a spur of the moment overnight-er. We sold Jeremiah's jeep and found a car to buy all in the same week. It needed a little loven' to make it nice so Jer, Jason and Brian fixed a few things and detailed it before we drove home. Thanks Mandile's for letting us crash at you house.

Then Tuesday I drove down with my Mom to help Tim and Connie clean the house they bought. (congrats guys, it is a great house) We drove home Tuesday night with Abby, Quinn and Parker so that they could spend a few days with Grandma and Grandpa.

Today Jer drove down to Chandler to help move Tim and Connie to there new house. Hopefully he will make it home before midnight.

Friday is Bode's 2nd Birthday!! We are traveling down to the valley to get my haircut (woo hoo!!) and shop for the little devil.

On Saturday we had planned a party but we have felt overwhelmed and rushed so we decided for our sanity to cancel it. Hopfully on Saturday we are planning to take Bode to his first movie ever. I am excited for that.

Then we are staying with my sister until we drop off Bode at Rena's so Jer and I can have a mini vacation before Jeremiah starts the Academy. We are going to Tucson to stay in a nice hotel, go to a spring training game, shop and go to Kartchner(sp?)Caverns. We are coming home on Wednesday all the way to Pinetop then Jer will go back down Sunday night to start his new job on Monday morning.

So if there are no new post for awhile, that is why.

Every woman loves a man in a uniform...

Congratulations Jeremiah on getting hired by the Phoenix Police Department!
Life in the Joncas home has been in limbo for the last few months. We had been feeling for quite awhile that we needed a change. In December Jeremiah and I both felt like if we wanted to make a change we needed to do it now and not procrastinate any longer. So in January Jeremiah started the hiring process for the Phoenix Police Department. Through a series of physical, psychological and medical tests we found out that he has been officially hired. He will start the Academy on April 7, with prehire starting on March 24.
This has all happened so fast. We are grateful for this opportunity. We are excited to have health insurance and all the other benefits that go along with it. I know that it can be a dangerous job but we both feel good about the decision we have made.
The biggest bummer is that we have to move. Which means leaving my family. I feel so blessed to have had these past few years to live so close to my parents and little sister. I love them both so much and it will be so hard to not have them close to me and my family. Every time I think about this is makes me cry. So this is all I can write about right now.
I am also very grateful for the job that Jeremiah has had with my Dad. I am grateful that my husband was able to spend time with my Dad. Even if my Dad doesn't know it he has been a great example for Jeremiah.
So now we are actively starting to take the steps necessary for us to move down to Peoria (or Surprise, we aren't quite sure when or where we will be planting our roots.) Jeremiah sold his Cherokee today. We are planning on getting a Honda so he can commute with better gas mileage. We are going to put our house up for sell this week. Jeremiah will be moving down in the middle of March. Bode and I will be in Pinetop until our house sells, cross your fingers for us. Our plan is to live in Jason and Natalie's little casita until Jer is done with the Academy and then we will look to but a house.
That is our news for now. Please keep us in your prayers as we embark on this new chapter in our lives!
