Don't feed ducks on Sunday...

We thought it would be fun to spend some time at the lake yesterday to feed the ducks and just play at the lake... but no. Sunday it the day everyone feeds the ducks! We get there and there are quite a few people picnicking and fishing already, so we toss some bread at the ducks and they turn their backs on us. Which is strange because normally they come from all over the lake to fight for the bread crumbs. They were already full I guess.
So we when to my parents house after, they live right across from the lake, to visit. I made to many chimi's for dinner so we shared. Bode was just motoring around and fell and hit his lip against a door.
You maybe can't tell but he got a fat lip that bled a little bit. He screamed for awhile, but I think he liked the attention. I think he might be a little afraid of the dark, he woke up a ton last night, and in desperation I flipped on a night light at like 3:00 and he got all quite and didn't wake up after that.
Anyway here are some pictures from our "don't feed ducks on Sunday" day.

I love pictures like this. Jeremiah is such a great Daddy. He and Bode have a great time together. No one can make Bode laugh like Jeremiah.

One year and counting!!

Should have done this earlier but time just flies, ya know? Bode turned 1 last Wednesday, we can't believe it. Seems like yesterday that all he could do was eat, sleep and poop. Not anymore! He is all over the place, into everything. We celebrated his birthday on Tuesday because Wednesday was to busy. Nothing big just family, dinner, cake and ice cream. He thought playing with the cake was fun, but he didn't like his hands all dirty. He held them out like with a funny expression on his face. Like "ewe get this stuff off me".

I think his favorite time of the day is bath time. He almost tips over the edge of the tub into the water all by himself. He is so big!! At his one year check up he was 31" tall and 25 lbs. Which if you hold him for any amount of time feels more like 50 lbs.

The weather is starting to get nice up here. On Saturday we got to do some yard work and Jer got to work on his jeep. This is one of the many reasons I love living up here, when it is almost 100 degrees down in the valley it is a nice cool 75 degrees here. We are going to fix up the yard to we can fully take advantage of the summer season. We have a few projects in the front but mostly we want to make the back yard more comfy with grass and landscaping. Anyway hope everything is going well for everyone.

My 5 Favorite things....

Ok so I followed Jessica and did 5 of my favorite things, and since I don't really scrapbook this blog will do for me. So here they are...

I love the Snowflake Temple. When it was being built they really involved the youth in our stake. We wrote our testimony on a river rock and they were used in pouring the foundation. We had our handcart trek and we walked to the hill where the temple was being built. My favorite was that they had the Young Women help put up the beautiful chandeliers in the sealing rooms. I remember with room I helped with and requested it when Jeremiah and I got married. It made it feel even more special to me that we got to have such an almost personal relationship with the temple before we actually got to go through.

Volleyball!!! I have been playing since 7th grade and adding the 2 years in college makes a total of 8 years of competitive playing and 2 years of coaching, with no end in sight. Right now I play on a women's league and it is a blast. I love the feeling of a great kill or an awesome block. Plus this ball is super cute, pink and black...I really want one!!

This may be a bit vain but this is a picture of my skinny jeans, I love them, but I am no were near fitting in to them. They are a size 6...yeah right that is just my right thigh now. Oh to have my body before a baby... that's a thing right?

Silverton, Colorado... I don't know if it can count as a thing, but I love it there. I spent a whole summer there the summer after my freshman year of college. It is gorgeous.

Judge me all you want but this show is great. Every Sunday night Jeremiah puts Bode to bed so I can watch my show in peace.

Anyway that is all. Maybe you all can know me a little bit better now or you already know these things because I am totally predictable.

PS: Ewe, I think my neighbors dog just got sprayed by a skunk!!! It is barking and I can smell it!!! I guess that is mountain life for you.

Walking Boy!!

Well today Bode decided that today was the day he was going to walk. We were at Grandma and Grandpa's house and he just decided to walk clear across the kitchen. He has taken a few steps here and there, but today he decided to just keep going.
When we got home he walked from the kitchen to the family room. I did catch him walking on camera, but it wont let me post it, hopefully I can later.

Monday morning post

(AAAA! Why do my links and side bar stuff get moved to the bottom!?! Does anyone know how to fix this?)

Jeremiah was sweet yesterday and bore his testimony. I love to heard it because he has such a strong one. Anyway he was talking about how Bode has such a sweet spirit, and there I was trying to keep him still for a second. But no Bode had other plans. He started wiggling and squirming, and then yelling and screaming. So right in the middle of Jer's testimony I had to get up. I tried to stand at the door, but Bode was not going to stand for that. Oh well I guess that I church with a toddler. I have a new calling in the primary so Jer has to take Bode for 2 hours. So we both get to have the little terror for church. How am I supposed to take care of more than 2, or more!?!

Plus don't wonder the halls during sacrament, they find you and you get new callings!!! I got a stake calling to go to girls camp. I think that is going to be way fun. Plus I get to go to camp and my sister will be there! Can you tell I am way happy about this calling!

Bode is too fun regardless of his church activities. He is on the verge of walking. I say this every week, but now he is really taking steps on his own. Not when you want him to, but when he is alone. Like when he is playing in his room and I spy in on him I catch him taking steps all by himself.

I am not quite sure why we push this walking thing so much. That just means he'll be able to get places faster. And get into more things.

Out of all the toys he has, the remotes are at the top of the list. He know that the person that has these hold all the power.

What a wonderful morning! I love it when Bode sleeps in. It is almost 9:00 and he is still sleeping in his bed. I guess it helps that he got up like 3 times last night and that is crappy but I'll take what I can get.

I cannot forget the other baby in our house. Jeremiah's Jeep. Or since we have two jeep's his is called the CJ. He has been working hard on it to get in to shape. He has learned how to weld and is fixing all the cancer aka rust in it. The paint should be coming this week, and a few other parts, soon this baby will be beautiful! He is painting in Omaha orange and it should look great. But wainting is the key right now because it is still to cold to bondo, primer and paint these days. By the end of the summer we will have an "after" picture.

Only 4 more days till the boys leave for the Grand Canyon.
