Brrrrr!

Well winter is officially here! We had our first snow storm of the season. It was bitter cold last night but the last thing we expected was snow. We woke up this morning to about 3 inches of snow and it grew to about 6 inches by the end of the day. Hopefully this is the first of many storms.

Well now we don't have to worry about landscaping, we now have snow to cover our weed infested yard.

Bode was in awe of the snow. He stood at the front window and watched it fall for quite a while. We got to put on his winter gear to go outside to his doctors appointment.(by the way he weights almost 22lbs. what a tank!) The snow is fun, I can't wait until next year when Bode is big enough to really appreciate the snow.

Christmas is coming...

I am getting in the Christmas mood more and more every day. Some years October comes around and I am ready to put up the tree and brake out the Christmas music. Then there are years like this, where I was happy with the fall and am not quite ready to put up Christmas decorations. But I did anyway. Jeremiah are going to cut down a tree this Friday, I think that will be fun, see more in the Christmas spirit every day.

This picture is really funny to me. Bode is a bit of a picky napper and he was being really cranky and not wanting to take a nap so I gave him a bottle on the floor and I could hear him rolling around and making noise for a while. Soon after i noticed that is was all quiet so I walked around the corner and this is what I found. He had conked out on this little stuffed panda, with bottle still in hand and slept there for about and hour.
We spent the Thanksgiving holiday down in Peoria this year. It was really fun. We stayed at the Brooks home where Bode got a ton of attention. Bode got to meet Kamden his South Carolina "cousin". They took a bath together on Saturday night. It was quite a show. Bode is a bath veteran and Kamden is a rookie. So Bode was splashing and crawling all over the tub. At one point he got up on his hands and toes and pushed his toosh in Kamden's face, not very proper, but funny just the same.
All in all it was a fun week. Jeremiah got to hang out with friends and do a little fishing. Good food and good friends are always a lot of fun.
Check out some bath time fun:

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Yeah!! Turkey Day is finally here. Don't you just love Thanksgiving. It is one of my favorite holidays.

For those brave souls who cook the turkey,

12 Reasons it is ok you burnt the turkey:
1. Salmonella won’t be a concern.
2. Everyone will think your turkey is Cajun blackened.
3. Uninvited guests will think twice next year.
4. Your cheese broccoli lima bean casserole will gain new found appreciation.
5. Pets won’t bother to pester you for scraps.
6. No one will overeat.
7. The smoke alarm was due for a test.
8. Carving the bird will provide a good cardiovascular workout.
9. You’ll get to the desserts even quicker.
10. After dinner, the guys can take the bird to the yard and play football.
11. The less turkey Uncle You-Know-Who eats, the less likely he will be to walk around with his pants unbuttoned.
12. You won’t have to face three weeks of turkey sandwiches.

Jeremiah started reffing this week. He is pretty exited about it. He did a scrimmage this week and did a pretty good job. It was a good way to test the waters before he has to ref real games. Even though he would rather be playing, this is still a fun way to be involved with basketball again.

Bode is just getting more and more fun. He has stopped doing the "worm" crawl and has taken up real baby crawling. He follows me around like a little puppy. A few days ago I went into his room to check on him during a nap and this is what I came in to. He flashed a huge smile because he was so proud of himself for standing up by himself. He is growing up so fast!

Just another day...

Bode is loving food, but he really likes to feed himself. I mix mashed potatoes with baby food and he loves it. I know that it is early for a Christmas hat but Jeremiah's Grandma send it to him and I am afraid it will be too small by the time Christmas comes along so he gets to wear it now.

I know that all babies put their toes up underneath their high chair, but it is still too cute. Bode is just like the rest of them so but when it is your own child it is even cuter.

Jeremiah and I didn't take any pictures this week so I found my favorite wedding picture of us. I loved all my pictures and every time I look at them I remember that great day.

A few days ago I went in to check on Bode while he was taking a nap and this is what I found. This kid love the bottle so much that he was hugging it while he was sleeping. I tried to take it away but he wouldn't let me pry it from his fingers.

I was hoping that I would be able to post that my little sisters volleyball team kicked butt this past weekend at state, but sadly no. They won their first game then hit a wall their second. Better luck next year girls. Even though they lost we had a good time anyway. It is always fun to see family and friends. Plus there is always the added bonus of shopping. We can't wait to come back down for Thanksgiving. Thanks Brian and Jessica for letting us crash at your house!

What a long weekend

Well we had a fun, long weekend. Fun for some. Long for others. Lee's volleyball team had a tournament all day Saturday so we were at the gym for most of the day. Bode is a trooped and loves to watch all the action on the court. Jeremiah gets into the games too. This week Jeremiah gets to take his refereeing test if he passes(cross your fingers) then I guess we will be watching a lot more basketball.

Lee's team won the tournament placing them to go first into the state tourny from our region. They played really good and have had a winning season. Not only are they region champs but conference champs also. So this weekend we are coming down to watch the tournament at Peoria High School. Gosh a few years ago I wouldn't have been able to point our Peoria on a map, now it is like a second home. Life changes so fast.

My niece and nephew are visiting this weekend. Their parents ( the lucky ducks) got to go to Texas for a little vacation. Quinn and Parker are a bucket of fun. I think that after this weekend my parents will be happy that they are done raising toddlers and on to raising a teenager and having adult kids.
