I have not felt like blogging lately....

I haven't felt like doing much lately. Because I've got to tell you, most of you multiple pregnancy mom's already know this, the third pregnancy is not so easy.

  • I don't get horrible morning sickness. I got really sick really fast with this one. Lots of puking, nausea, headaches, and sleeping. Lucky for me my mom took a few days out of her busy schedule and came to rescue me. Between her and Lee, my laundry got done, house clean and kids taken care of.  I got zofran and that helped. I weaned myself off of that because is has some adverse effects, namely.... constipation. I was really sick for about 2 weeks then I started feeling a ton better. I am still a sicky but no throwing up and I feel the worst at night. Luckily by the time I am getting sick the kids are in bed and I can just be sick.
  • zzzzzzzz..... Yes, I am oh so sleepy. I used to lay down during nap time/quiet time for Bode and Laine. Now I have to lay down during that time. If I don't I feel useless the rest of the day. I am very grateful Laine still takes a nap and that Bode is so good to just play upstairs, watch a movie or play a computer game. I have also found myself heading upstairs to go to bed earlier and earlier. One night this week I was in bed at 8:15.
  • Eating is a chore these days. Nothing sounds good until all the sudden I have to eat whatever it is I just thought of. For example a fresh fruit smoothie, Arby's curly fries, any type of mexican food smothered in cheese. I don't want these things all the time. Just once, then it is over. Right now the thought of curly fries sounds awful. But while I am eating it is so good, then 20 minutes later back to not wanting to eat anything. Even though I want to eat, all food makes me feel yucky later. Oh well. Just one of the many joys right?
  • Bode is still so excited. He is always asking me questions about the baby in my belly. I don't think Laine will show any interest until there is an actually baby for her to see.
  • I have gotten "thicker" much faster this time around. Jeremiah took a quick notice of this. I am sure I will be busting our the maternity clothes much faster than in the past. Only one problem there. I have only been most pregnant during the winter months so all of my clothes are for that season. Looks like I'll have a bit of shopping to do. Good thing my little sister was pregnant all summer last year and has some good things to pass. Thanks Lee :)
  • I already feel like things are going by pretty fast. I am working on 12 weeks. Didn't we just find out yesterday?
Laine has found her "sweet button" and finally turned it on. She has been really building her vocabulary and can communicate with me so much better. I think this has really eased her a lot of her frustrations. She has thrown less tantrums and has such a happier attitude because she can just tell me she wanted a orange not an apple. My favorite word she says right now isn't big or grand, in fact she has been saying it forever, but is it hello. She says "O-low". It cracks me up. She will say it to anyone that catches her eye. She copies everything Bode says. Last night we were with family and met up at a house. Bode ran in saying "Hello everybody!!! Hello!" she ran in on his tail screaming "O-low eberbodee!! O-Low!"  She and Bode have played to much better because then can talk as well. Today on the way to church Bode drilled Laine on her words. He would say one and then Laine would repeat it. She can say a lot more than I thought she could. Bode was so proud of her! What a good big brother.

Speaking of the duder. Other than being so excited about the baby, he enjoys going to school, playing with friends, making large messes, and telling jokes.

He has really done well the last few months at preschool. I can see his little mind just soaking up everything. We have had the hardest time with counting. He could not even get to 5 as of last January. But we are now proud to say he can count to10 and we are working on the teens. Between preschool, the leapster explorer, computer games and us counting everything possible, he finally got it! He is always asking me how to write words. He knows is letters very well and enjoys putting them together to make new words. He will find papers with words on them and copy them.
He also is quite a good little artist.  I need to scan in some of his recent works. They are really good. I don't have to pretend to see what he drew or squint to see the picture it is right there plain as day. My favorite to date is a zebra he brought home from school.
He loves playing with his friends. He has a good little group of boys to play with and they all have fun when they are together.
Bode loves telling jokes. None of them really make any sense and they all involve a chicken. Just ask. It will be a variation of a knock knock joke and a why did the chicken cross the road joke. He laughs every time like it was the funniest thing ever.

Kindergarten...

the first year.

*This isn't a picture of me from my first year of kindergarten. But I didn't have that one. This is when I was 4. My mom took me in the same time the school pictures were getting taken. She said I picked a bunch of dandelions before I went in and held them all through the line until the it was my turn. Then I gave them to the photographer.

Yes, that is correct, I did two years of kindergarten. Well I guess technically 1 1/2 years. My mom said it was because she was pregnant with Lee and didn't want that much of a gap between us in school. Sure. I am pretty sure it was because I don't remember a thing from that little time of kindergarten except recess.

5 year old Birthday celebration...

Bode woke up at 6:15 on his birthday. He said he got up early because he didn't want to miss it. He requested Dunkin Doughnuts for breakfast. Lucky for him, he got them.

We got up and got ready for an 8:00 doctors appointment to see the new baby. Bode didn't know about the big surprise until we got in the ultrasound room. We showed him the screen and asked him what it was, he didn't know. So I told him it is a baby. His face lit up and he said "in your belly!?!". He then proceeded to tell me to not eat any junk only good food, that the baby is a boy and we will name him Rex or Max, and that it was so tiny.

Then Bode and I headed off to see the movie he requested. Mars needs Moms. It was cute. He was on the edge of his seat the whole time watching it. He laugh at the jokes and got sad at the right time and happy at the right times. He is finally old enough to get movies. We had fun!

Then we came home to have lunch and eat some cake. Jer was in charge of the cake and did a pretty awesome job! I was impressed and so was Bode. The kids got into the cake when Jer and I we upstairs and needless to say the only ones to ate cake that day were Bode and Laine. We didn't want to eat a cake that had been destroyed by little hands.

Then it was off to open presents.

Then after naps and quite time Bode got to go out with Grandpa Steve and Grandma Rena to pick out a present. He choose lego's. He may have had to of been persuaded to get the tub instead of one of the cool sets. He went straight to work on those legos when he got home and has been building ever since. He told me when I had tucked him in that night he thought that the tub of lego's would be boring, but that he was wrong and they were awesome!

After a long day of birthday parting we settled down to read one of his new birthday books from Grandpa Dave and Grandma Trish. This is a good one and I highly recommend it.

I think it was a good birthday for the 5 year old. He gets to spend a couple birthday bucks and then it will be over. Next the hot, hot summer and then off to kindergarten.

A new brother or sister.
He said he wants a brother and we will name him Rex or Max.
When asked, what if it is a sister, he replied, naaa.

Don't jump to any conclusions...

Yesterday I cleaned the downstairs bathroom. I dumped out the little trashcan and looked inside. This is what I found!

I was appalled!! Yuck! My first thought was who the heck rolled a turd in the trash can. I wouldn't put it past Bode. But then again Laine has been curious about the potty and taking off her diaper a lot these days. So first I took a picture for Jer :) then grabbed a clorox  wipe to pick up the poo. False alarm! It wasn't poo. Just play dough. Thank goodness. I did have a good laugh over it though.

The Zoo...

This past week we went on a field trip to the zoo. Bode's preschool class was going to mine went as well.
Last year when we went it was cold, windy and rainy. It took about an hour and a half to walk through the zoo, eat lunch and leave. This year is was the perfect day for the zoo. We ended up staying a few hours longer that I thought we would to see everything.

Bode, Rayce (one of my preschoolers who came with me) Laine and me.
You might not think they enjoyed the day by the looks on their faces but I think they all had fun.

Bode did not want to touch anything, at all!

Laine loved all the fish.

This was our little group. These boys just wanted to run!!
Until the end when we were begging them to walk with us. They were all very worn out by the end of the day.

Bode and is friend Hadi.

We got to feed the birds.
Luckily this bird was nice enough to stick with us the whole time. He hopped from my hand to Bode's then Rayce's hand. The Bode were all very happy to feed a bird. I find them kind of creepy and was not to happy to have one land on my head.

It was a fun day at the zoo!

A little PB knock off anyone...

We has a stuff swap for a RS activity last week. One of my friend brought these old candlesticks. I claimed them right away :) They were exactly what I was looking for. I had seen these beautiful distressed ones in Pottery Barn but at 69.99-89.99 a pop there was no way that was happening. So with a little paint and sandpaper there they are. Although I think I will spend some more time distressing and staining them to look older.

Just had to write this down... updated...

This is a facebook post/convo:

Tracy (Bode's old preschool teacher and mother to one of the girls in Bode's current preschool class):
Haderlie was proposed to at preschool. She told me "The ca-ute-est boy said 'When you grow up I am going to find where you live and ring your doorbell and ask you to marry me'". Hopefully I can get her to be not so high maintenance by then because he really is, as Hadi says, the ca-ute-est and I would love for them to get married! I am glad they are waiting util they grow up;D

Me:
Too cute! She is one cute cookie... Bode talks about her all the time.

Tracy:
Heidi...it was Bode :D

Me:
I asked him. He got all shy and whispered he loves Haddi. LOL He is quite the little romantic. I agree, glad they are waiting :)

Jamie (Bode's current preschool teacher):
I was worried that I was going to have to separate those two! LOL At one point Hadi looked at Bode and said, "When you are ready to marry me, just call me and I'll tell you the numbers on my house."

Jamie (the next day after preschool):
I had to implement the "no marrying" rule! Of course, when I did, Hadi looked at me and said,"Okay, but Bode and I are going to get married for real when we grow up because he asked me and I said yes." Got to love these kids! They are awesome!

Bode and Hadi at a preschool field trip.

Oh dear! What to do with this little boy? He is quite a character. Last night was the kindergarten round up. We went to get all his paperwork together and see the school. He is so excited. He is ready to go and I am ready for him to be challenged at school. But that first day is going to be hard. I can't believe he will be 5 this month.

nooooo.....

That is what Laine calls the snow. She just yells,"nooooo".

We haven't been up north for a while and last weekend seemed like the perfect time to get away. Bode has been dying to go sledding and we saw that there was going to be a storm. So we left late Friday night to go up to my parents house. Saturday morning we where hoping the snow would start to fall, but no "no". Just bitter cold, wind and dark clouds. The kids didn't seem to mind that there was only a small patch of snow to play in. They enjoyed pulling each other around in the sled and going down a small little hill Jeremiah built up for them to go down.

Luckily for us the storm came in overnight and didn't disappoint. There were at least 6 inches when we woke up and anther 3 or 4 after we went to sacrament that morning. Since we were packing up and leaving in the afternoon we snuck in a little snow time before we headed home.

Bode was very happy to make a snow angel.

Laine would have been happier if she could have put her arms down ;) and kept her boots on.

We found a small enough hill close to my parents house. It was just the right size for them to have fun, and the right size for Jer and me to not get too worn out lugging them up the hill.

I love Laine's faces. I am sure Bode's were just as good but he was hiding behind Laine.

No matter how much snow you get to play in there must always be toast and cocoa.
Good thing Grandma Trish spoiled us and we got homemade toast, yummy!
It was a short trip but was a fun one. It is hard to leave the beautiful winter weather here in the desert to visit the real winter weather in the mountains. I have fully transitioned to a thin blooded, flat lander. Although I absolutely LOVE my home town and the people there, I have really come to love the valley. The weather, people and convinces here. Although I know in a few months when the temperatures are off the charts I will be singing a different tune. I have already warned my parents I will be packing my bags and living with them in July :D.

This is a special "note to self" for Jeremiah:
When you are driving down the highway at 65 mph and decide to empty your cup of all ready been chewed sunflower seeds, please, for the sake of your passengers, turn the cup the proper way. If held the wrong way every passenger in the car will get pelted by sunflower seeds as the whole contense of the cup will fly throughout the car and not out the window as intended.

Bode really, really wanted to bring some snow home with us. Grandma Trish let us borrow an ice chest. Bode packed it full of snow so he could bring some home. You think they are excited to have a snow ball fight?

Thanks Dad and Mom for letting us come up and play!!
