Skittles...Arrows...and the little Klepto

My sister Jill has been updating her blog with old stories about when she was a kid. So to follow in her footsteps I decided to write down a few of mine also.

SKITTLES

I remember in 5th grade was the time when boys and girls started to have boyfriends and girlfriends. I am sure that it started before this but I was not aware. I remember really wanting a boy to like me, but no none of them did. One day we got back from computers and there was a pack of Skittles on my desk. This happened to a lot of the other girls in the class, boys would secretly sneak candy or a little gift on the desk or cubby of the girl they liked. Anyway I was super excited about this. So I went and sat down and the cute boy in class came over to my desk and grabbed the Skittles and said "Opps I thought that was Tiffany's desk" and then gave them to her. I never got candy on my desk in 5th grade.

Update: I was talking to my older sister Jill and we were reminiscing about how we have the same romantic luck as each other. You know...no boys liked us. I told this to my little sister and this is what she said "well I never had that problem, I always got candy grahams and stuff from boys" What can you do...I guess she is the pretty one.

Arrows

In 2nd grade we had a huge playground. It was really open and surrounded by trees. I played with the same group of kids everyday and sometimes, like little kids often do, we would get in little fights about what we were going to play. One day I really wanted to play hot lava tag on the big toy play set on the play ground and no one else wanted to. I got really mad and ran away. I was being dramatic and wanted everyone to follow me. After awhile I noticed no one was following me so I figured that if I make arrows on the ground then they would all know were I was so they could find me. So I spent the whole recess finding little sticks to make arrows in the dirt so they could come find me...they never did.

Little Klepto

(this story is really embarrassing for me)

This was 1st grade. And to put it bluntly... I stole lots of little things. I have no idea why I did it or how long I had done it but I did. Just randomly took things. But remember when I got caught.

I took this little tape measure off this boy's desk. Then to make sure no one knew I had it I sat on it. My teacher must have seen me do this becasue she came right over and asked me if I had something that wasn't mine and I said no. Then she told me to stand up, so I did, but I squeezed the little tape measure between my legs so it wasn't in the chair anymore. So then she told me to spread my legs and plop it fell to the floor. I was so embarrassed! She called my Mom and Dad and boy was I in trouble. I remember being really concerned that I had stole things and sinned, but then being really happy I was only 7 and wasn't baptized yet.

Handsom Dude-r-dude!

I love this little boy.
He is getting so big.
He can say:
Hi, Hello, Bye guys, banana, please, cheese.
juice, Dad, Mama, NO, yes, night night, book, "banket", eat, come on,
go, car (accompanied with the noise) and a few more little words said sparatically.
He is getting to know his little body so well.
He know were his nose eyes and mouth are and more recently were his weeny is.
To the dismay of his mother he likes to stick his finger up his nose, especially in public.
He loves to run away from me.
He will run down the hall and hide behind his little table and giggle and wait for me to say "Where is Bode?" then he jumps and and yells "HA".
He loves his Woody doll. He tries to put him on Stat's back and say go! Like they do in the movie.
He is such a Daddy's boy. He will hear me talking on the phone to Jeremiah and he will say
Dad, Dad! And look for him.
I love being a Mommy. Even when days are hard and I am all worn out a tiered. Having a family is all I really ever wanted and I feel so luck to have Jeremiah and Bode in my life.

Maybe we should get a cat?

Sorry the video is dark, we really don't watch TV with the lights off. Anyway we were watching one of my favorite Sunday shows America's Funniest Videos. Jeremiah is not a fan but he humors me and lets me watch it. An animal segment came on and Bode thought it was so funny. We kept going back and he would watch it over and over. (Turn off the music for full effect.)

Beloved Church President Gordon B. Hinckley, who led The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through 12 years of global expansion, has died at the age of 97. President Hinckley was the 15th president in the 177-year history of the Church and had served as its president since March 12, 1995.

My favorite pictures and stories of President Hinkley are about his cane. He was told to carry a cane and that’s what he did—he carried it.

I cannot help but think that President Hinkley is so happy to be with his wonderful wife again.

When pigs fly...

I love this picture! It makes me so happy!

What in the world!?!?

So this was a girl on the freshman volleyball team from St. Johns. We think she was serious about the hair? I know St. John's is a little behind in the times but come on, I think she is channeling a style circa 1962?

FYI this post is for Taytum...haha St. John's isn't that bad and I bet this girl is really quite a good girl ;0)

Bode and Parker

Bode and Parker have so much fun together. Bode taught Parker how to hide in the end table at Grandma's house. He was very sneaky as to not give her great hiding spot away.
This was over the Christmas Holiday.
We couldn't figure out what the noise down the hall was until it was too late.
They cleared out three full shelves of book. They did have a good time doing it though!
Parker's strong little legs!

Happy Birthday!!

One year older and just as goofy as ever!
Having sisters is like having best friends you can't get rid of.
You know whatever you do, they'll still be there for you.

Happy Birthday Jill!!
I am very grateful for you and your big sister guidance.
I may have hated you and loved your clothes growing up:0)
But I was always happy to be your little sister. And now that we are older it makes me even more happy to have you be one of my Best Friends!!! Love you!

Tag!! I'm it.

My top 10 photo's
(in no particular order)
This is not the greatest picture, but it is the first one of Jeremiah and I. My Mom took it the first time he came over to send to my family.
I guess they were curious of the guy I was bringing home.

This is my favorite wedding picture. Again, Taytum did such a wonderful job of capturing this day for us. I love this one because it is candid and so sweet.
This one is great because it show us as we are. No make-up and all four-eyed.Every time I look at this photo it makes me think of the joy this one little spirit has brought to my life. He cracks me up everyday. In case you were wondering he is smiling:0)
He is so dang cute I could just eat him!!! Messy face and all!

Ahh the newlyweds. Jeremiah makes me feel on top of the world almost everyday.
I was amazed that just a day or two before this picture he was in me.
What an amazing experience.

Bode blessing. I am so grateful that we are an eternal family and that the priesthood is in our home!

I just love the picture. It was Christmas Eve this past year.

I love my little family.

What the hay!?!

It is 9:21 am and Bode is still sleeping away. He went to bed at 8:00 pm just like normal but I guess he wanted to sleep in this morning. I know the second I post this he will wake up screaming and we will have a "fun" day. But I am sure enjoying my morning to my self.

Who needs toys when you have a box?

Why is it that if you get a kid a gift, the box it came in is more fun than the thing itself?
Grandma and Grandpa brought over this big box for Bode to play with. We cut out a little window in it and he has been having a blast with it ever since.

We would knock on the little window and he would open it and proudly exclaim "Hello!!"

Don't mind the dirty face it was right after dinner.

Even Dad got in on the action.
