Long time, no post

Go to love this kid. He loves to look at his reflection. He will push his rocket back and forth in front of the stove to catch his reflection in it. That is what he is doing in the pictures.

It has been a pretty regular few weeks for us. Just living life. I have been trying to finish painting Bode's bathroom and his room. Which always means a ton of little spin off projects for me. So my house is a wreck and I don't even want to begin to think about the laundry.

Jeremiah is good. He got in a little fender bender last nigh on the way to school. Some kid in a brand new Ford rear ended him in his CJ. Not to much damage done, a bent bumper and a few other things. His neck and back are a bit sore. But on the bight side, a couple new project for the Jeep. That is a total of 4 accidents since we have moved up here. None of them and been major, but still! Jer says it is becasue of all the "po-dunk" "back-woods" drivers. The odds of this are crazy becasue he was "and is" such a crazy driver in the valley and never got in a crash, move up here and go figure.

On top of what happened to the CJ our Cherokee is getting fixed too. The back window got shattered 2 weeks ago on a camping trip with to Priests. One of them was throwing rocks and just happened to toss one at our car. Hopefully it will be fixed today. I have been driving my Mom's Tacoma, which is way nice, but I miss my car.

Anyway... life is good here.

Moving Man...

Bode got this little push toy from Rena, Steve and Heather for his up coming first birthday. It had quickly become his favorite toy. He is so close to walking and loves using this toy to make his way though the house.

My sister Jill came up this weekend to visit and she brought her daughter Parker along. Parker is about a month older than Bode, and has the cutest curly brown hair ever, she is quite "sensitive" as Jill would say. Anyway Bode took away her play cell phone and she went in to a full on cry. I thought her face was priceless.

2 Years and Counting!!!

Jeremiah and I have been married for two years today. CrAzY!! It seems like yesterday that met him. Then got engaged... went through the temple...married...baby. Time is flying! I am just so very grateful to have found someone that I love and can spend so much time together and not get annoyed. I love being married to my best friend.

It feels like I haven't posted anything for ever. I guess not too much has been going on. Bode it such a tank. He won't completely stand up by himself yet. He is too chicken. But he gets on the side of the couch and not walks along it but just runs. No joke. He shuffles sideways so fast.

Bode loves this flower, he finds one every day and will carry it around for ever. He waves it in the air like wand or something.

This is a cute picture. Bode and Jer were laying on the kitchen floor and Bode was having such a great time. He was laughing and giggling for the longest time.

Happy Hour?!?

(Nobody has to read this it is just a bit of a rant that felt good to type out)

So every morning I watch the Today Show on NBC while I get ready, this morning they did a piece that really pushed my buttons. It was on play dates for children where the mothers get together and have a drink. They called it "Happy Hour" a time in the day where they could get together with friends, their kids could play and they could have a cocktail. These mothers really had no problem with the fact that they we drinking in front of their children.

I understand wanting to have time with other people to talk about things other than Baby Einstein and diaper creams. I often wish there were people around to get together with to just hang out. But there have got to be a more healthy and constructive way to spend and afternoon.
They all defended themselves by saying "I know how much I can have," "I don't do it to get drunk," and "It is just a way to unwind." One of the women has written a book about all of this and she basically feels that people who oppose this kind of activity are just judgemental and are just finding fault in others parenting style.

I was thinking about all of this are I just can't believe how may people think that their actions don't affect others. These mothers are basically telling their children that the only way to have fun in a social setting is to have alcohol present. Then in ten years they are confused by the fact that their sixteen year old child in an alcoholic.

In high school I had a few friends that were very into partying. I know that for some people that is a phase that teenagers go through, but the most disturbing part of this is that their parents supplied the alcohol, and had the parties at their homes. I think that many parents today have given up disciplining their children, opting for a more relaxed and open parenting style. Roughly translated in to; I am a cool parent, I want my child to be my best friend, so I'll never say no and let them do anything they want and hope for the best.
A person can have a million friends and only one set of parents, do your job accordingly.

Snow Glorious Snow!!!!

Holy Moly... the snow is piling up outside. The weather channel never says that we will get that much snow, but they were really wrong this time. This snowed almost all day yesterday and it has been snowing since we got up today.
We got all ready for church and Jeremiah shoveled a path do the car and by the time we actually got in the car there was a fresh inch of snow were he has cleared it. Then we got to church at 11:00 and they announced that there would only be sacrament meeting today and not the last two hours. By the time we got home there was about 3 more inches of snow on the ground.

Bode has a rough week. He had a little cold at the beginning of the week that progressed into croup by Wednesday night. He woke up coughing, the only was I could describe it is like a goose or a house kind of noise. He was up from 12:00 to 4:30. Needless to say we didn't get to much sleep that night. He went to the doctor and got some medicine and now he is fine, thank goodness.

He is getting into everything. He is on the verge of standing by himself but he is just a chicken. Now that he has top and bottom teeth he bites everything, I actually have teeth marks on my hand! How do you teeth a kid not to bite you? He also figured that his new teeth are great for eating things. He takes little bites of things like cookies and crackers. To cute.

Here is my wonderfully dorky husband. Even though there is 12" of snow on the ground he is wearing shorts. To top it off he has snow boots on too. Some days I guess he just misses the valley. He didn't want us to take a picture but we snapped this one at my Mom's house.
