Colorado 2014

 

 

Hello Silverton!

 

Colorado day 1: jeeping, ghost towns, and snowball fights in July.

 

Colorado day 2: we rode the train from Durango to silverton. We had to get up early and drive a winding rode to get there. Kids got car sick and 2 threw up. So we gave them Dramamine. In knocked them out and they took naps on the train. Piper didn't really understand that we were on the train. If we went around a bend and saw the train she would scream "look there's a train!"

 

Colorado day 3- The 4th of July. Kids loved the parade. They got lots of candy and beads. Then we all got soaked by the fire-hoses.

 

I highly recommend the firework show in silverton. It is hands down my favorite and never disappoints. This year was no exception. The sound of the fireworks echoing through the canyon is amazing. Piper loved it! We all did :)

 

Gold mine tour. Bode was 100% sure he would strike it rich. They loved this. They keep talking about going in the mountain. Laine found a tiny fleck of gold. Or at least we told her it was gold on her finger. 😉

 

The boys love jeeping. I'm good for one day on the trails. This day we asked Laine if she wanted to go again. She said " I just don't think I can do it today". Guess she's a lot like me anyways.

 

This girl. She's a hoot. She was a good camper with the occasional melt down. She prefers to be barefoot so keeping clothes and shoes on her was a struggle. She loved all the food around and thought she was pretty big stuff sleeping in the tent with the big kids.

 

Mostly I think all these kids just liked being around cousins!
