Random happenings...

My belly went from a barely there belly to a full on, poped out pregnant belly.
This is at 26 1/2 weeks.
It has grown a ton since this picture. I had an appointment this last week and I was measuring 2 weeks bigger than my due date. My belly just gets huge (along with my butt, legs, face...). Comically huge to tell you the truth and I feel like it is much bigger at this phase than either Laine or Bode were. Oh well, we are both healthy and who could ask for any more than that?
I also turned 27 years old while in Pinetop. Jer wasn't planning on being there for that day but ended up leaving at 1 am and getting to my parents house around 4 am. It was so good to see him after not seeing him for nearly 2 weeks. To celebrate we took a little vacation inside our vacation. We left the kids at my parents house went out to lunch, went shopping for new makeup for me, slept at a motel and saw Harry Potter. It was a great birthday!

What would a trip to Pinetop be with out a few walks around the lake?

Laine felt like pretty big stuff when she got to walk Boo.
Poor girl had a break out of eczema while we were up there. Her legs were to red here.

Bode has so much fun playing with all of grandma's office paper, pens, scissors and tape. This day he chose to make a Cat in the Hat hat for himself and Sally hair for Laine. Then taped them to their faces.

Signs of Summer...

Little wet feet tracked in and out of the house are a sure sign of summer just around the corner. We have been enjoying the last few days of cool nights and manageable days but prepping mentally for the triple digits that are bound to hit by the end of the month. I have decided that the only way to survive the summer is to keep everyone busy and add a little water into the mix. We are planning on movie days at the theater, splash parks with friends, swimming and a little water fun in the back yard to survive the summer. Or at least until we just can't take it anymore, pack up the car and head to the mountains.

We bought this little pool with slide for the kids to play in for the summer or however long it lasts. They love it. Everyday they want to go out there and "wimmm" as Laine would say. To bad for them we have been having a bout of cold weather and they haven't been able to use it this week. Although I'm not complaining about the weather, it has been beautiful!

It isn't huge or fancy but it gets the job done.

Cute little water babies. We are getting them into swim lesson in July. That should be fun.

Last Sunday after church we where eating in the kitchen and a big old wasp was just flying around the house. The kids were playing upstairs and I told Bode to get Laine, close the door and hide out in his room until dad killed the wasp. Well the next day Bode decided that we needed a "no bees allowed" sign. He asked me what colors bees are, how many legs they have and what their wings look like. This is the sign that is now posted on our sliding glass door into the back yard. I particularly like the angry eyes...

Things to come...

It this next baby happens to be a boy, Laine will be fine.
If it is a girl, Bode is in trouble.

Biscuits and Gravy...

I love biscuits and gravy.

I loved growing us seeing my mom make the biscuits and getting to stir the gravy.
It is one of my all time favorite camping foods. My dad cook some great ones in the dutch ovens.
Top off some fresh biscuits with some hot sausage and green chili gravy and I am one happy girl.
Or if you are out of sausage then hard boil an egg and mix that into your gravy.
Sounds weird but is delicious.

Sadly not everyone in my little family feels that way.
I like to make them for breakfast or dinner.
My husband doesn't really like to eat them for any meal
and come to find out neither does Bode, so I don't make them that often.

But sometimes on a day that Jer works I make them for dinner.
Never fails that anytime I do Bode groans and complains about eating them
and requests that he only have butter and jam on his biscuit.
That is the way Jeremiah eats his as well.

But not my Laine Bug.
No way.
She is a girl of my own heart.
She wants those biscuits slathered with melted butter and gravy.
Thankfully at least two people out of our four can enjoy this meal like it is meant to be enjoyed.

 Except.....

Laine likes to eat her biscuits and gravy in the nude. I prefer to wear clothes.

Big Brother...

Bode was very sweet to Laine while we were camping.
I think he will be protective of her.
He asked me the first night we were there if Laine needed his fishy blanky to stay warm
Fishy blanky is his one and only blanky, but he was willing to give it up to keep her warm :)

Pinetop...

Living in the beige desert you kind of forget about all the beautiful colors the world has to offer. I actually really do enjoy living in the valley.  Great weather (except for the summer), beautiful sunsets, shopping, family... but there is no green! I miss the green, changing seasons and snow. Even Bode was loving all the green. He wanted to take a picture of this "beautiful green leaf-es" as he calls them.
Bode made a new buddy on this trip. See the little lion? It was mine when I was little. He loves it.  He also enjoyed giving Laine rides on the bike too...
and the quad.
Bode loves Grandpa Dave's big truck. Jeremiah gets a 4x4 magazine in the mail every month. This morning Bode was flipping through the pages and came across a picture of another big blue truck. His face lit up and he got all excited. He said "Holy cow! Grandpa Dave's truck is in this magazine!! Amazing!"
The morning Jeremiah came up he brought doughnuts.
The kids loves them.
Laine loved them the most.

Don't you hate it...

when people put a ton of pictures of their kids doing the exact same
thing over and over on their blog.
Sorry. My kids where too cute today and I took a bunch of pictures of them. I loved their faces in each picture and had to show them all.
I was feeling overwhelmed with all the things I needed to get done today. Cleaning the house, tackling the ever growing laundry pile, the small project in the garage that has turned into a monster project... All these things and more were going through my head when I walked around the corner to see this wonderful scene. Bode and Laine laying on the floor playing together and sipping on their cups. It made me slow down for a second and remember what is important. Oh how I love these two children and their sweet spirits. I am grateful everyday that Heavenly Father entrusted me with them. I love my job!

Give me that camera!Oh this face! She sees the camera and this is what I get. CHEESE!
Bode was trying to play it cool. But he was having a good time :)
